Unexpected behaviour with Salesforce Dataloader v25
Salesforce have today notified it’s customers of a potential issue when uninstalling the latest version of the salesforce data loader (v25). The email below was distributed to it’s Premier Success customers providing details of the problem and possible solutions, including a link to our helpful data loader archive page! This issue is only present where version 25 has been installed outside of the default folder – for more details see the email below sent by salesforce.
We have observed unexpected behaviour with the salesforce version 25 Dataloader tool:
If this version is installed in a folder other than the default install folder it will delete all files located in that folder when the uninstall program is run.
As a workaround please user previous version 24 and older from this location - http://www.cloudsuccess.com/resource-centre/apex-data-loader-archive/.
as the usual data loader download page is being disabled.
