New in Summer ’11 – Full Copy Sandbox Object History
A new feature that’s just arrived with the latest release of salesforce (Summer ’11) is the ability to choose how much data to copy over when doing a full sandbox refresh.
The options available are 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 days of object data. As you can see from the help text – the more data you require will result in longer copy times. The good news is that for shorter periods of object data, full sandbox copy times should be significantly faster than prior to this release.
Admittedly this isn’t the most exciting of new features – however it’s worth being aware of the options available for use just in case you find yourself looking for a ‘quick’ full sandbox refresh. Note: The 30 day limit between refreshes still applies, would be interesting to see if salesforce change this going forward depending on how much data is selected.
