New Force.com IDE now available (v27)
As of last week the very latest Force.com IDE is now available (API version 27) and if you’re a Salesforce Developer you’ll probably want to upgrade to take advantage of the very latest features. The upgraded IDE follows the recent upgrade of all instances to the Spring ’13 release.
To upgrade the Force.com IDE from eclipse simply go to Help > Check for Updates and select the Force.com IDE option, then follow the prompts until completion.
To install the IDE from scratch check out http://wiki.developerforce.com/page/Force.com_IDE_Installation where you can install a standalone version or the eclipse plugin.
The Spring ’13 release of the Force.com IDE contains the following features:
- Metadata Support in Spring ’13 lets you access the newest objects and components from within Eclipse.
- Force.com Library for Spring ’13 lets you read and search the latest Force.com technical documentation from within Eclipse online help.
